HAFEN is a 14‑minute video exploring perception, time, and space. Two nearly identical scenarios are superimposed and interwoven over roughly fifteen minutes. Backlighting and shifting perspectives transform the material: it appears as a frozen lake or a wave under dim light, illuminated by an unnaturally bright moon. In reality, it’s a snow‑ or ice‑covered hill on the verge of melting.

Throughout the film, a very slow, almost imperceptible crossfade shifts between the two images. This subtle transition draws the viewer into a sustained gaze, contrasting the fleeting glance. It transforms the viewer’s mental map into a physical experience, highlighting how the same visual information can yield different perceptions.

The audience isn’t compelled to watch continuously—instead, they witness fragments of this change, fragmented shifts inviting reflection rather than demanding attention.
