The Ausstellungsbrücke at Landhaus St. Pölten presents Patrick Topitschnig’s works from February 26 to March 29, 2026. Art historian Paula Marschalek will speak at the opening.

Between White and Night brings together EXT. NOC. and All Todays (White Series)—two photographic investigations exploring how light shapes, suspends, and transforms reality. Despite their differing visual approaches, both series focus on transitional moments in which space, meaning, and memory are temporarily reconfigured.

EXT. NOC. examines nocturnal film sets in New York City and Austria. The work does not emphasize the cinematic scenes themselves, but the environments illuminated by artificial light.

All Todays (White Series) is an almost monochromatic exploration of fragility and transformation. Through images of broken objects, veiled sculptures, foggy structures, and traces of destruction and renewal, white becomes an active force—concealing and revealing, erasing and rewriting.

In both series, light is not a neutral medium but an active agent that simultaneously constructs and destabilizes reality. In All Todays (White Series), white functions as erosion and concealment, while in EXT. NOC., light acts as a technological instrument imposing order on darkness. Together, these works reveal light as a paradoxical force—clarifying yet veiling, preserving yet overwriting, documenting yet fictionalizing.
